How To: Make Deals & Save Money

How to: Make Deals & Save Money

One of the cool aspects of a consumer to consumer retail store is that it's easy to barter with sellers (and buyers). Unlike a typical retail shop, you can adjust prices fairly easily. To get the most out of your PayPal balance, you want to message sellers directly.

Slide in the DMs

The best feature of the app is directly messaging sellers about an item.

Pictures can be deceiving, so it's important to always ask about measurements and other necessary info when buying a piece of clothing online, especially if it's something like a pair of jeans that needs to fit perfectly. When you slide into those DMs, you want get info about the product and pretend you're super interested, but your main goal is to have them bring down that price because private school is expensive.

In my experience, most sellers are willing to come down by $5 or more, which is like one of those little baby coffees at Jo's, or a bottle of water at the movies. Think about that, if you saved $5 for every piece of clothing you ever bought, you could probably drop out of business school and start your own business not really are you still reading. Wow, lemme tell ya, yeah Depop deals are crazy. Typically, most people are nice and probably have been holding on to some of their items for a while which means they're more likely to give them away for less, it's simple business.

Simple.

Bundle Deals

Here is another crazy original business concept: The more quantity you buy, the cheaper price you get.

Wow, lemme tell ya business school is really something ain't it.

Usually when you find a shop or seller you like, they have many of the same styles you're looking for. This works in your advantage. A seller will almost always cut you a deal if you buy more than one item, if not, they'll at least give you free shipping. Bundle deals are something unlike any other modern clothing retailer. Take advantage.

Straight finessed.

PayPal

Alright, this last trick is a little sneaky.

Every purchase you make on Depop, the seller has to pay a 10% tax to the app, just like eBay or most other consumer to consumer shops. Some people use this trick to save a few dollars and avoid the annoying tax.

Essentially, you go behind the back of Depop and make an exchange directly through PayPal. However, I would not recommend this if you lack PayPal knowledge.

There are two ways to send money through PayPal:

1) Friends & Family (no fee & no protection)
2) Goods & Services (tiny fee & buyer protection)

Never ever ever send money to a stranger online through Friends & Family unless you want to get scammed in that case go right ahead. If you're going to try to avoid the 10% Depop fee and purchase through PayPal, only send money using Goods & Services.

Sorry Depop, I go to private school.
